This portfolio is a unique collection of my work in that there is no cohesive theme or storyline to follow. Trained as a documentary photographer I have been primarily concerned with images of society that pull together to tell a story. For me this is photography in it's most potent and rewarding form.

But I have long leaned toward the aesthetic side of the aesthetic and content equation because on that side lies complete freedom for the photographer. I have always struggled against this freedom believing that photographs of real worth must be comprised of both aspects of the equation.

With the images in the Krishna Cafe I have given in to my aesthetic yearnings. It's photography unfettered by thematic concerns, and I hope, imparting a sense of the intangible.

Chronologically, this gallery begins in 1990 and continues to the present day. From my earliest dabbling days, when I pointed a camera at something just to see what would happen, to images that just aren't quite right for my book projects but that I love nonetheless, to images that I found during assignments for the Houston Press.
